Q1. When are the high and low season for tourism in Yemen?

A:The high season usually starts from the middle of September to the end of April, and the low season is from May to August.

Q2: What kind of tours do you provide?

A: Yemeni Dreams Tour agency provides tours of both Southern and Northern Yemen, consisting of Classical and Adventure tours.

Q3: What are the differences between Classical and Adventure tours?

A: Classical tours consist mostly of driving and walking in villages, historical places of interest, viewing landscape and photographing.
Adventures tours also include the same as Classical tours, but Adventure tours may also involve trekking, camping, snorkeling, some steep hiking, sand boarding and sand skiing.

Q4: When do you suggest coming to Yemen?

A: We suggest any time of year, but the rainy season is between the middle April until July. The rain is often short showers. Also in the Summer time it can be very hot in the South of Yemen and don’t recommend Southern tours at this time, the North is beautiful all year round.

Q5: I am a woman, how should I dress when I come to Yemen?

A: We suggest very lose clothing as to not see the shape of your body; also a head scarf is highly recommended and necessary to fit in better and respectful to the Islam and the Yemeni people.

Q6: How should men dress?

A: Men should also dress modestly, and wear pants to the knees, and shirts and pants should not be tight on the body.

Q7: Do women need a male relative when traveling?

A: Of course if the option is available do it, but it is not necessary. When you travel you would not be alone because one of our trusted drivers would be with you. (For Muslim women, it is a requirement from the religion)

Q8: How do we pay?

A: We accept payment thru transfer to our bank account or on arrival date for individual tours. For group tours full payment should be made before arrival.

Q9: Do you accept credit cards?

A: Yes, we do, but not thru the computer, only in person do we accept credit card payments. There is also a 5% service charge for any credit card payments. However we do not accept Visa or American Express.

Q10: Is it possible to prepare my own itinerary?

A: Yes, we can modify programs to any practical and possible request, but keep in mind that only what is capable. It is sometimes impossible for some requests but we definitely will inform our clients of this.

Q11: When is a good time to visit Socatra?

A: One may visit Socatra from the beginning of September to the middle of May.

Q12: Can we go swimming and diving in Socatra?

A: Yes, we offer swimming along with the tour, as for diving that is considered an additional excursion.

Q13: What is the electricity output in Yemen, will I need an adaptor?

A: The output is 224 watt output, and the electrical sockets are European style.

Q14: How may I exchange money in Yemen?

A: Yemen has many exchange stores that sell and buy currency. You can find them easily in any large cities, on any busy streets. There is even an exchange store below the Yemeni Dreams Company.

Q15: May we pay in Euros or Emirate Dirhams?

A: We do accept Euros and Dirhams, but we prefer USD or Yemeni Rials, because it is the most commonly used currency in Yemen.

Q16: May we drink alcohol when on tour with Yemeni Dreams?

A: No. Yemen is a Muslim country with very high moral standards, to drink or consume alcohol is against the law in Yemen. If one has or sneaks alcohol into the country, then it should never be drunk in the presence of the guide or driver for Yemeni Dreams.

Q17: Do we need a travel permit when traveling in Yemen?

A: Yes, we provide this for our clients when they send us names of participants and/or number of participants.

Q18: How do we attain our entry visas?

A: You may either attain a visa from your local Yemeni Embassy, or we can do the visa preparation from our side once required information is sent via email. Europeans, Americans and Canadians can buy their visas at the Sana’a airport when they arrive if they choose, we would also send our representative to the airport to assist in the visa procedure.
